My Opinel No. 08 slides in with just the right tension and the snap closure keeps it secure on my belt. The vegan leather has softened nicely over a couple months and shows no cracking. Can't beat it for ten bucks.

Fit was stiff the first week but it's shaped to my No. 08 nicely now. The lanyard loop is a thoughtful touch for pack carry. Stitching looks tidy and hasn't loosened.
Took this through a wet week in the Cascades and my No. 07 came out dry and rust-free. The artificial leather handled the rain better than real leather would have, honestly. Ordering a second one.
Functional and well-made for the price, but my No. 08 Slim rattles slightly in it even with the snap closed. Fine for pocket or pack carry, less ideal clipped on a belt while moving. Still worth it as an affordable protector.
You can tell Opinel didn't cheap out — even the snap hardware feels solid. Fits my classic No. 08 perfectly. I'd love a belt loop in addition to the lanyard, but that's a wish, not a flaw.
Got two of these to go with Opinels I gave my grandsons for their first camping trips. Both fit well, the snaps are easy for small hands, and the sheaths have survived a summer of boy abuse. Money well spent.
Loved the look and fit for the first month, then the snap pull-through gave out on a hike and the knife nearly slid out. Maybe I got a dud. Cutter's Bench replaced it quickly, so I'll give the new one a fair shake, but confidence is shaken.
