Yes. The oil is completely plant-based and food safe, so there's no worry about harsh materials near your cutting tools or food prep surfaces.
Yes – that's exactly what it's made for. Apply a few drops to a clean cloth and rub it on carbon steel blades to protect against corrosion, and use it to condition beech wood handles and cutting boards evenly.
After oiling the blade, allow it to dry completely before folding it closed – typically a few minutes on the surface. Never close a folding knife with a wet, oiled blade.
Mineral oils work on blades but lack the wood-conditioning blend; specialty camellia oils cost more. At $10 with 17% off and an extra BENCH10 coupon, this is the affordable, purpose-built choice for the full range of Opinel knives.

I've been using this oil on my No. 8 and No. 12 Opinels for a couple of months now and the blades look fantastic. It goes on thin, doesn't gum up, and I love that it's food-safe so I don't have to worry when the knife touches my lunch. The bottle has a nice precision applicator tip too. Will definitely buy again.
Does exactly what it should. My beech handle stopped drying out after two applications. Only gripe is the small size for the price, though the coupon helped.
Works great on blades and cutting boards. No weird smell.
It's oil, it protects the blade. I noticed the smell is mild and plant-based which is nice, but I honestly can't tell much difference from the mineral oil I already had. Still, it works and I like supporting the food-safe option.
My grandfather always said take care of your tools and they take care of you. This oil is easy to apply with the little spout, absorbs into the beech wood nicely, and keeps the blade from spotting in my humid kitchen. A little goes a long way so the bottle should last me well over a year. Very happy with the purchase from Cutter's Bench.
The oil itself seems fine, but my bottle arrived half-empty because the cap wasn't sealed. Customer service sent a replacement quickly, hence two stars instead of one, but check yours when it arrives.
I use it on my kitchen knives and my wooden spoons. It dries to a nice satin finish and doesn't go rancid like some oils. The applicator can drip a bit if you're not careful, so go slow.
I live near the coast and my carbon-bladed Opinel kept getting surface rust no matter what I did. Two weeks after applying this oil, the blade is still clean and smooth. It's plant-based, food-safe, and cheap, especially with the discount. Honestly the best ten bucks I've spent on knife care. My walnut cutting board also looks refreshed after a coat.
