Opinel No.08 Mushroom Knife Kit – Curved Blade, Serrated Scraper, Boar's Hair Brush, Oak Handle with Sheath

Took this out for chanterelle season and it handled everything. The curved blade slices stems clean at ground level, the serrated scraper took care of dirt caked on porcini caps, and the boar's hair brush is soft but effective. The oak handle feels great even after hours out in damp woods. Sheath is sturdy too.

Bought this for my mother who's been foraging for thirty years. She says it's the best mushroom knife she's owned, and she's owned several. The brush quality especially surprised her. Arrived quickly with the sheath included as described.

The curved blade is ideal for the flick-cut on chanterelles and it holds an edge well. Only note is the boar's hair brush needs to dry thoroughly after wet days or the bristles can get funky. Keep it aired out and it's a five-star kit.

Cleaned a whole basket of hedgehogs with this in no time. Brush is brilliant.

The knife itself is excellent, sharp, well balanced, and the sheath fits nicely on my belt. My only issue is the brush is smaller than it looks in photos, so brushing big boleti caps takes a while. Solid kit overall for the sale price.

Everything about the knife kit is great. The sheath's belt loop is a bit snug for my thick hiking belt, works fine on my regular one. Blade is razor sharp and the brush is well anchored. Recommended for anyone serious about foraging.
