The blunt tip is exactly right — it goes into the hinge without stabbing the meat. The Bubinga handle feels warm and solid in the hand even when wet. Folds up nicely to toss in the tackle box.
Works well, solid leverage, nice wood handle. Takes a bit of force to open it one-handed but the lock is secure once open. Good price.
I've shucked hundreds of oysters with cheap dollar-store knives that bent and slipped. This one has real leverage and the blade doesn't flex. The folding design means no more stabbed holes in my apron pocket. My oyster club buddies are all ordering one.

The knife itself is well made and the Bubinga wood is pretty. It took me a while to get the technique down with the blunt tip — I was used to pointed knives. Once I learned the hinge method it worked fine.
Left it in the sink overnight with the dishes and the wood handle swelled up and got rough. It says water-resistant, not waterproof, so partly my mistake, but be careful. Blade performance is fine.
