Wusthof 9" Diamond Steel Sharpener, Narrow, Fine is the diamond-grit sharpening steel that actually resets a dull edge by grinding away material — unlike a plain honing steel, which only realigns. Essential for anyone maintaining Wüsthof, German, or Japanese kitchen knives, it's available online for just $50.00, a 50% discount off the $100.00 compare-at price.
Compared to a ceramic steel, the diamond surface removes material faster for badly dulled edges. Compared to a standard honing steel, this sharpener actually restores geometry. Pair it with a whetstone for polished finishing — but for weekly maintenance at $50.00, this is the best value diamond steel on sale.

It's $50.00, 50% off the $100.00 compare-at price. Compared to honing steels that only realign edges, this diamond steel actually restores them — exceptional value at this discount.
Hold the steel steady, set the blade at 14–15°, and draw each side from heel to tip with light pressure, 4–6 strokes per side.
Yes — it works with all straight-edge kitchen knives including Wüsthof Classic and Classic IKON, plus most German and Japanese blades. Not for serrated edges.

My 8-inch Wüsthof had gone seriously dull after years of neglect. Ten strokes per side on this steel and it was slicing paper again. The diamond grit actually removes metal so it reprofiles, not just realigns.
Noticeable improvement on all my knives after the first session. The handle grip is secure even with wet hands. Took one star off because it's louder on the draw than a standard steel.
I keep it in a drawer by the cutting board and give my knives a few strokes before each use. Game changer.
Works well once you get the 15-degree angle down, but there's a learning curve if you've never used a steel. Watch a video first. Fine grit is more for maintenance than true repair.
Heavier and sturdier than the cheap one it replaced. Diamond coating feels aggressive but controlled. My kitchen knives have never stayed this sharp.
Restored the edge on my paring knife that I'd basically written off. Simple to use, well built.
This is a maintenance tool, not a sharpener for truly dull blades. My knives barely improved. Should have gotten the coarse version — my mistake, but be aware.
At 72 my grip isn't what it was, and the sure-grip handle makes this easy to control. My husband's hunting knives and all my kitchen knives get touched up in minutes. Excellent product.
