The OLFA OL 18mm Extended Depth Utility Knife delivers up to 1-1/2 inches of supported cutting blade plus a built-in metal multi-purpose carpet tuck pick — the flooring pro's two-in-one tool. Buy it online at Cutter's Bench for $10.00, a $5.99 discount off the $15.99 compare-at price, with coupon BENCH10 for extra savings.
The metal pick integrated into the handle is designed for tucking carpet edges into the gap along baseboards and tack strips. After cutting carpet to length with the extended blade, flip the knife and use the pick to press edges cleanly into place — one tool, both flooring tasks.
The extended stainless-steel channel exposes up to 1-1/2 inches of working blade edge, letting you cut through thick carpet, padding, insulation, and layered material in fewer passes than standard knives.
Blade changes are tool-free: extend the blade fully, snap off worn segments, and reload. Any standard 18mm OLFA snap-off blade fits the OL's channel.
At $10.00 — 37% off list — this is the affordable choice for flooring installers. Apply coupon BENCH10 and bundle blades to hit the $45 free-shipping minimum.
Standard 18mm knives can't reach the OL's 1-1/2-inch depth, and none include a carpet tucker. For flooring work, the OL replaces two tools at one low price.

The extended blade depth gets through thick commercial carpet in one pass, and the built-in tuck pick saves me from carrying a separate tool. Tucking edges into the gap is so much faster now. This knife replaced two tools in my bag.
I didn't think I'd use the carpet tuck tool much, but it's on my knife so it's always in my hand. Cleaned up three doorways in half the usual time. The deep blade support means no snapping or flexing on thick cuts.
Extended depth is great for padding and thick pile. The tuck pick is sturdy and hasn't bent on me. It's a little larger than my standard knife, but that's the tradeoff for the extra capability.
If you're not doing carpet work, the extra depth and pick are just extras. For me it's been handy on a couple of jobs but it's not an everyday carry. Build quality is solid OLFA stuff.
Beyond carpet, the extended blade handles deep foam and stacked material beautifully. The pick is great for cleaning out grooves and scoring drywall. Rugged construction, comfortable grip, and it's only ten dollars.
The knife cuts well and the extended blade depth is useful, but the tuck pick developed noticeable wobble after a couple months of professional use. For light homeowner carpet work it would probably be fine, but it didn't hold up to daily installation.
The tuck pick alone is worth it. Cuts deep, feels sturdy.
