Bought this set when we downsized and needed to replace my old block set. At 72 I don't want heavy knives, and these are light but still cut through tomatoes and squash with no effort. The paring knife is my favorite — fits my arthritic hand nicely. Clean up easy, and the wood block keeps the drawer clutter down.

These are legit good knives for the money. The chef's knife is the star — glides through onions and has good knuckle clearance. Honing keeps the edge fine. Block is a little wobbly on marble counters but nothing a felt pad didn't fix.

Every knife was scary sharp on arrival. Even the bread knife. Very impressed.

Cutting performance is genuinely excellent — no complaints there. Just be aware the beech handles need hand washing and occasional oiling or they'll dry out. I put one in the dishwasher for a week before I read the care instructions and it's noticeably rougher now. My fault, but worth flagging.

I took a class at Milk Street and their kitchen uses these exact knives. That sold me right there. Three months of heavy home use later and they still perform beautifully with a quick honing. The steel takes an edge easily and the full tang gives them a confidence-inspiring heft. Can't beat this price either.

Replaced a mid-range German set with this one and honestly don't miss it. Cuts are clean, handles are comfortable for long prep sessions, and the block saves counter space. The utility knife could be a touch sharper from the factory, hence four stars.

Disappointed. One of the block's slots had a crack down the side when it arrived and the block itself wobbles. The knives themselves are actually nice, but for this much money I expected the packaging to protect the wood. Returning and may reorder since Cutter's Bench handled the return smoothly.
