Switched from a hard plastic board after ruining an edge on my Classic Ikon. This TPU board is soft enough that the blade barely touches anything hard underneath. Cuts don't scar the surface badly either. Worth every cent at half price.
Edge retention on my chef's knife is noticeably better since switching. The red color is bright and cheerful. It does flex a bit when transferred to the sink, which some may find annoying.
