The finger guard was the missing piece for our Sunday baking sessions. My six-year-old wears it on her knuckles and it genuinely protects her fingers while she slices bananas and strawberries. It's adjustable enough to fit her small hand and mine. She picked the red one and treats it like a knight's armor.

It's a plastic claw, essentially, but it works. My son no longer nicks his fingers when helping with salad. He does try to take it off halfway through chopping, so consistency is on the parent. Good value for five bucks.

The guard does its job, but my four-year-old found it awkward at first and the grip takes coordination she didn't have yet. After a couple of weeks she's better with it. I'd recommend it for ages five and up rather than toddlers.
