Opinel Maintenance Kit – Knife Care Set with Sharpening Stone, Plant-Based Oil, and Microfiber Cloth

Sharpened my No.08 and my kitchen paring knives with the stone, wiped them down with the oil, and they honestly feel better than the day I bought them. The microfiber cloth is a nice touch, and the whole kit costs less than a single decent stone elsewhere. If you own an Opinel, this is a no-brainer.

Does exactly what it promises. Solid little kit.

The sharpening stone took me a few attempts to get the angle right, but once I did, my Virobloc lock knife went from dull to scary sharp. The plant-based oil doesn't smell like machine oil, which my wife appreciates since I store the knife in the kitchen drawer. Only wish it came with instructions in bigger print.

My No.12 had nicks and a sticky hinge after two years of camping abuse. Thirty minutes with this kit and it's smooth again. Docked one star because the stone is small — fine for Opinel blades but tedious for a chef's knife.

Disappointed to open the box and find the sharpening stone split down the middle. The oil and cloth seem fine, and support offered a replacement, but I needed the kit for a trip this weekend. Shipping quality control could be better.

Okay, I'll admit I've been rough on my knives and never maintained them. This little kit changed that. The stone cuts fast for its size, the oil smells pleasantly herbal, and the cloth picks up every fingerprint. Ten minutes of care per month and my whole collection stays happy.
