The engraved oak handle on this thing looks far more expensive than what I paid. The stag engraving is crisp and detailed, and the blade came shaving sharp out of the box. The Virobloc ring locks everything up solid with zero blade play. Gave it to my brother for his birthday and he carries it everywhere now.
My grandfather always carried an Opinel, so buying this engraved one felt like a nice nod to him. The oak handle has a warm feel and the animalia design is tasteful, not gaudy. Blade takes an edge easily. Only reason it's not five stars is the blade had a couple of faint machine marks near the ricasso — nothing that affects use, but worth mentioning.

Functions perfectly as a No.08 should — smooth opening, reliable lock, decent steel for the money. I'll say the engraving is much fainter in person than in the photos, almost something you'd miss unless the light hits it right. Still a nice knife, just manage expectations on the artwork.
