Opinel No. 18 Folding Saw – a 9.25-inch overall folding saw with a 7.5-inch blade, beech wood handle, and lanyard hole, crafted in France – is built for cutting branches, clearing trail, camp firewood, and garden pruning. Best for campers, gardeners, and bushcrafters who want a compact folding saw with European build quality. Current price: $33.36 – 50% off the $66.72 compare-at price. Buy online at Cutter's Bench and apply coupon BENCH10 for an extra 10% discount.
Open the saw fully and unscrew the pivot screw that secures the blade to the frame. Swing the old blade out of the beech handle channel. The blade is a replaceable component – you don't need to buy a whole new saw when the teeth wear out.
Seat the replacement blade in the groove, align the pivot hole, reinsert and tighten the screw, then cycle the Virobloc-style lock open and closed to confirm smooth operation. Always lock closed before storage and lock open before cutting.
Quality steel teeth cut green and dry wood on the pull stroke. The folding design protects the teeth in a pack, and the lanyard hole accepts a cord for secure carry on the trail.
Compared to fixed-blade camp saws, the No. 18 folds safe and compact. Compared to budget folding saws, the French-made beech handle and replaceable blade make it a lasting buy. Pair it with an Opinel No. 8 Trekking knife ($10.50) for a complete camp cutting kit.
Save $33.36 – 50% off – with coupon BENCH10 taking an extra 10% off at checkout. Orders over $45.00 ship free, so adding a pocket knife gets you free shipping on the whole kit.

Green and dry branches, camp firewood, kindling, and pruning cuts. It's ideal for trail work, bushcraft, and garden tasks where a compact folding saw beats a bulky fixed saw.

This thing cuts way above its weight. Took it on a weekend backpacking trip and it processed firewood limbs up to about 3 inches thick with ease. Folds safely, locks securely, and weighs almost nothing in the pack. The replaceable blade feature means this could last decades.
I mostly use it for pruning in the garden and trimming branches around the yard. Cuts on the pull stroke cleanly and the beech handle is comfortable. The lanyard hole is a thoughtful touch for hanging it in the shed.
Cuts fast, packs flat, feels well made. What more do you want from a folding saw?
The build quality is lovely — the beech handle fits my hand well and the lockup is tight. I've used it for trail clearing with my scout troop and it handled dozens of branches without dulling noticeably. The blade teeth are aggressive so keep fingers clear. Replacement blades being available makes this a real long-term tool.
Nice compact saw for the price. It's a bit slow on green wood compared to a bow saw, but for quick trail cuts and camp firewood it's great. Very compact in the pack.
Well made and folds safely, but the 7.5-inch blade is a real limit on anything thicker than wrist-size branches. Fine for light camp duty and garden tidying. If you need serious firewood processing, bring something bigger.
I maintain a section of hiking trail and this saw lives in my pack now. It cuts through blowdowns quickly and the folding design means I never snag it on brush. Two seasons of heavy use and the original blade is still cutting strong.
