Buy the Opinel Parallèle 8" Wooden Bread Knife for $25.00, down from a $50.00 compare-at price — 50% off the most popular of Opinel's large kitchen knives. Strong, light, and efficient, its gently curved serrated blade saws through crusty artisan loaves, baguettes, and soft interiors without crushing.
The curve improves cutting ability, letting the 8-inch micro-serrated stainless steel edge glide through hard crusts with a drawing motion while preserving soft crumb.
The Parallèle series pairs the blade with a light, durable PEFC-certified beechwood handle in a half-tang construction. Handles can be customized — a popular option for gifts.
Compared with stiff, heavy bread knives, the Parallèle's light weight reduces wrist fatigue for daily slicing. At $25.00 it undercuts most branded 8-inch serrated bread knives while delivering comparable performance.

The most popular of Opinel's large kitchen knives, the Parallèle bread knife uses a curved, micro-serrated stainless edge and a PEFC beechwood handle for effortless daily slicing.
The gentle curve keeps the tip from dragging through the loaf and improves leverage on hard crusts — a real advantage over straight serrated knives in the same price range.
Artisan loaves, baguettes, sandwich bread, brioche, tomatoes, and gifting — the handle is customizable with engraving.

I bake two sourdough loaves a week and this knife finally gives me clean slices without crushing the crumb. The gentle curve helps with the sawing motion and the beechwood handle is comfortable even with a long session. The serrations are sharp and fine enough to handle delicate brioche too. At this price it's unbeatable.
Cuts through crusty baguettes and sandwich loaves cleanly. Handle feels nice and natural in the hand. Would have given five stars if it came with a blade guard for storage, since I keep it in a drawer.
Clean slices, no squashed bread. Exactly what I wanted.
Out of the box it was excellent, but after a few months the handle developed a slight wobble. Tightening the ferrule helped. Cutting performance is still great, just be aware the wooden handle needs a bit of care.
The curved blade is the standout feature — it naturally follows the slicing motion and the bread just glides. Hand washes easily and the wood still looks new after months. Very happy with the purchase.
My husband and I ordered this after ruining one too many homemade loaves with a cheap serrated knife. The difference was immediate — the first slice came out clean edge to edge, no tearing, no compression. The handle has a warmth and balance that steel handles lack, and the 8-inch length suits everything from batards to rye. We've since bought two more as gifts. Truly a small kitchen joy.
