I've broken two cheap shears trying to cut through chicken backbones. These Wüsthof shears went through a whole bird like it was nothing. The curved blades give great leverage and they come apart for cleaning, which is huge for sanitation. Handle grips are comfortable even when my hands are greasy. Worth every penny even before the sale price.
Solid, sharp, easy to clean. Cut through turkey joints no problem.
These are fantastic quality, no doubt. They snip through ribs and backbone without effort. My only gripe is they're weighty, and my wrists notice after a big batch of chicken quarters. Still recommend.
My wife is a line cook and she was skeptical of 'gadget' shears. Now she hides these from me. They joint a chicken in under a minute.
Very well made and sharp, but the spring action was extremely stiff for the first few uses and pinched my thumb once. It's loosened up over a month of use and now works nicely.
We raise meat birds and processing day used to mean dull kitchen shears and a sore hand by bird number five. These made quick work of twenty birds and stayed sharp. The blades separate for thorough cleaning which keeps everything safe. The safety latch is easy to open one-handed when your hands are full. Solid German engineering, feels like it will last decades.
I use these for spatchcocking chickens, but also for trimming fat off brisket and even cutting pizza. Very versatile tool. Only wish they came with a blade guard for drawer storage.
Loved these at first, sharp and powerful. But the safety latch mechanism cracked and now the shears won't stay closed in the drawer. Expected more durability at this price point.
