Wüsthof Grand Prix II 8-Piece Knife Block Set – High Carbon German No Stain Steel, Made in Solingen, Germany

I've been cooking seriously for about twenty years and finally upgraded from a cheap big-box set. The Wüsthof Grand Prix II is on another level entirely. The chef's knife glides through onions like butter and holds its edge for weeks. The block is solid and the 17 slots leave room for future additions. Worth every penny even before the discount.

Snagged this set during the sale and couldn't be happier. Everything arrived sharp, the handles are comfortable, and the bread knife handles crusty sourdough without tearing it up. Solingen quality is real.

Bought these to replace a mismatched collection. The steel is excellent and cleanup is easy since nothing has rusted or stained. My only note is the santoku-style chef's blade felt different from what I was used to, but a week in and I love it.

Got this as a housewarming gift and she calls me every week raving about it. The block looks lovely on her counter and the knives are properly weighted for someone learning to cook.

The blades themselves are excellent, no complaints there. However the block sits slightly uneven on my counter and I had to put a felt pad under it. For the price I paid it's still a good deal.

The utility knife is my new favorite tool. Paper-thin tomato slices with zero effort. Also love that they're stamped but still feel substantial in hand.

These hold an edge far better than my old set. Hand wash only, which takes some discipline, but worth it. Would recommend.

Disappointed to find a small chip on one blade right out of the box. Customer service was responsive and shipped a replacement quickly, but quality control should catch this. The replacement has been fine so far, hence two stars instead of one.

Came scary sharp. Zero regrets.
