Opinel No.112 Stainless Steel Paring Knife Set with Varnished Hornbeam Handles

I've been using these Opinel paring knives for about two months now and they've replaced everything else on my knife strip. The blades hold an edge surprisingly well for the price, and the hornbeam handles feel warm and secure in the hand even when wet. Peeling apples and deveining shrimp have never been easier. The colorful handles make it easy to grab the right one without thinking. Honestly the best $29 I've spent on my kitchen in a while.

Sharp out of the box and the stainless steel cleans up easily. One handle had slightly rougher varnish than the others but nothing that affects grip. Would buy again.

These little French knives are as pretty as they are functional. The blades slice tomatoes paper-thin. My whole family fights over the green one.

You can tell these are made by a company that's been doing this forever. The steel is properly heat treated and takes a great edge on my whetstone. Only reason it's not five stars is the varnish on the handles shows wear after a few months of heavy use. Still fully functional and I'd recommend them.

I wanted to love these. One of the three knives arrived with a wobble where the tang meets the handle. Customer service handled it quickly, but quality control could be better at this price point. The other two are genuinely good.
