Gourmet knives are precisely laser-cut from high carbon stainless steel for superb sharpness and consistent geometry. The triple-riveted polypropylene handles stand up to years of daily prep and washing.
Everyday family cooking, holiday meal prep, and full-kitchen outfitting. One purchase covers chopping, slicing, paring, bread, steak service, and more — no piecemeal buying.
Compared with the forged Wüsthof Classic sets, Gourmet is laser-cut stamped — lighter and far more affordable while retaining Wüsthof's Solingen quality standards. Compared with buying knives individually, this block set delivers 16 pieces at roughly $6 per piece at the sale price. Prefer forged? See the Classic 3-Piece Chef's Set.

Gourmet knives are laser-cut stamped steel — lighter, very sharp, and much more affordable. Classic knives are forged for heavier use. At this price, Gourmet offers the best value per blade.
Households outfitting a complete kitchen, new homeowners, and gift or wedding-registry buyers who want brand-name German cutlery in one discounted purchase.

Seventy-eight percent off felt too good to be true, but this is genuine Solingen steel in every piece. The 8-inch chef's knife and the santoku do the heavy lifting, the steak knives actually cut steak, and kitchen shears come apart for cleaning. The block is attractive and every slot is dedicated — no loose knives rattling in a drawer. We hosted Thanksgiving for twelve and never once wished for another knife.
My husband and I registered for a cheaper set and returned it, pooling the money for this one. Best decision. Six months of daily cooking later, everything is still sharp with just weekly honing. Guests always compliment the block on the counter.
The core knives are fantastic and that's what matters. The kitchen scissors are fine but not the come-apart Wüsthof shears, and the honing steel is adequate. Everything else — chef's, santoku, utility, parers, bread knife — exceeds expectations for the price.
I'm 68 and have cooked for a big family my whole life. These are the real deal — heavy where they should be, sharp as razors, and the block keeps everything where I can reach it. Bought one for my daughter too.
This is the stamped Gourmet line, not forged Classic — lighter in the hand and the bolster is minimal. For 90% of home cooks that's completely fine, and the value is undeniable. Just don't expect Classic heft. Four steak knives also feel a bit thin.
Sharp, balanced, beautiful block. Replaced fifteen years of mismatched knives in one order.
Cutting performance across the board is excellent and the bread knife glides through sourdough crusts. My caveat: the block's slots are tight, so pulling the shears out takes a firm grip. Otherwise a five-star purchase, especially at nearly 80% off.
Usually the bonus pieces in a block set are throwaways — not here. The serrated steak knives slice tomatoes cleanly, the paring knives are precise, and the chef's knife has become my daily driver. As a culinary student, I appreciate that every blade is marked Solingen. This set will carry me through school and well beyond.
