I've had cheap serrated knives my whole adult life and didn't realize what I was missing. This thing saws through crusty artisan loaves without tearing the soft interior. It also handles ripe tomatoes and even winter squash skin surprisingly well. The laser-cut edge should hold up for years. Solid Wüsthof quality.
The knife is sharp and cuts cleanly, no issues there. My only gripe is that for large 10-inch boules I run out of blade and have to reposition. If you bake big loaves, consider a longer one. For baguettes and standard sandwich bread it's perfect.
